What should I do?!

I understand that life happens, families are busy, and I completely respect that.   The children will not be asked to do much, but they will have reading homework nightly.  The students will be required to read 30 minutes each night, document the reading in their planners, and have the reading minutes signed off.  We also may have math occasionally.  This will be dependent on how far we get in the lesson each day.  I encourage you to work with your child as much as you can, whether they are reading, working on math, or doing a different project in order to help them get better.  Being involved, encouraging them, and making it a positive experience will help build their confidence in their learning and help them to become better readers, writers, and mathematicians. Math can be turned in in the turn-in bin each morning before breakfast and they may log their reading minutes in their binder (to be signed each day).
